Origami Cranes for Japan

In response to the recent disasters in Japan, we are creating a virtual gift for Japan.  During open library times, students are encouraged to fold origami cranes which will be hung from the library ceiling.  Our goal is 1000 and we will be digitally documenting our creation.  We will send our virtual gift and wishes to a school in Japan.  Please come by and make a crane for Japan.

Mark Teague Visits OES Lower School

K-2nd grade classes enjoyed listening to Larue Across America, Mark Teague's newest book and hearing about where he finds inspiration for his stories.  He spent time signing books and chatting with students about what it means to be an author and illustrator.  We have lots of his books here in the LS Library, so come on by and check some out!
