Read Across America Bookmark Exchange

During open library times in January and early February, our OES students made beautiful bookmarks depicting Oregon and/or Portland as part of a National Bookmark Exchange for Read Across America.  We just received our batch of bookmarks from kids across the country.  Come by the library to get your own special one (act quick!  They are a popular commodity!)

Click here to see all the schools that participated!  We were the only school representing Oregon!

Why Read?

One of my favorite authors for grades 4th and up, Jason Reynolds, explains why kids (and all of us) should read.  And if you haven't read his books (especially Ghost), you should.

Platinum Aardvark Reading Cookies

If you see any of these fabulous 4th grade readers around the Lower School, make sure to wish them luck! They will be representing OES this Saturday at the 3-5 Regional Battles for the Oregon Battle of the Books.  Thanks to our Lower School Library, Mrs. Sathyaraj and the parent volunteers for supporting them on their reading journey.
